The long arm of the law has reached out and tapped the shoulder of a Sacramento man three times in just over 30 days, according to Folsom Police Department officials, and now he’s cooling his heels in the county clink.
On Monday evening, Folsom police officers arrested Maximillian Sullivan, 21, on suspicion of felony hit and run, driving under the influence and a probation violation. This was Sullivan’s third arrest by Folsom Police officers for motor vehicle-related crimes since Nov. 3.
On Dec. 1 around 7:30 p.m., the Folsom Police Department received a report of a possible hit-and-run traffic collision in the residential area of Perraud and Alezane drives. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 55-year-old female who said her vehicle had been rear ended by the suspect’s truck. The victim, a Folsom resident, had complaints of pain in her head and neck. She was transported to Kaiser Roseville Medical Center.
At the time of the collision, witnesses reported seeing a blue GMC pickup truck fleeing the area. Officers located a vehicle matching the description in a 100 block of Price Way. Sullivan was allegedly seen walking away from the vehicle, according to Folsom Police. He was arrested and transported to the Sacramento County Jail.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, at approximately 11:40 a.m., the same vehicle was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident in the area of Riley and Sutter streets. The suspect also reportedly vehicle fled the scene. The victim of that collision, a Folsom resident, was transported to Mercy Folsom Hospital after complaining of pain. That investigation was still ongoing on Nov. 3 when the police department received a complaint of a reckless driver around 8 p.m. in the 1000 block of Riley Street.
Officers pulled over Sullivan, who was positively identified as the reckless driver by witnesses, according to a press release issued by the Folsom Police Department. In the course of their investigation, officers allegedly linked Sullivan with the earlier collision on Oct. 24. He was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run and outstanding warrants and booked into the Sacramento County Jail.
