On Saturday, October 11, Old Town and Downtown Auburn, working with the Placer County Wine and Grape Association, will present the Auburn Wine and Food Festival. Twenty-five venues will feature twenty-five wineries from Placer and Nevada Counties specially paired with culinary offerings from local restaurants and catering companies along a one-mile span between the two business districts. Check-in begins at 11 a.m., the tasting will be held from 1 - 5 p.m., and wine sales will continue in the beautifully restored school park preserve through 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 before October 1 and $45 thereafter, and include tasting, raffle entry and a commemorative wine glass. For those who wish to enjoy the event but not sample the wines, tickets are only $20 per person. Each participant will be given a map of all participating venues, restaurants, and wineries. Complimentary shuttle service between the two districts will also be provided. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to www.auburnwineandfood.com, or call (530) 885-9644.

I am looking forward to this event hope everyone is spreading the word so Auburn is in the spotlight for its amazing wines and vendors.

I see shuttles for the participants will be provided. Is there anything being done to get them home legaly and safely? It disturbs me that alcohol is being promoted at the "School Park Preserve".

APD will probably get a hands off order just like the "Drunken Right Ball".

I can not wait, Auburn has so much to offer! I am inviting all my clients to join in on the fun.
