There are many examples of students making films in a rather unconventional location and with a technologically low device and the films made with such arrangement got recognized with audience .A few of such films got awarded in renowned film festivals. One film called “Snow Globe” was made by Kunal Vohra and the film was based on the environmental issue of global warming. The film was shot on a railway station and the film got noticed by Earth Day Network from US.
As the film culture is changing, the technology and way of making movies is changing. In the changing culture films can be marketed on internet and the film will get noticed by the online viewers. The films made in an unusual way by novice film makers who make the films with less known devices can be marketed on YouTube and Google Video and it can be made to reach audience.
The technology has been an important tool for students to show their skills and many college going students are opting to make animation films on small scale and these students are getting recognized for their achievements. The films needs not to be a feature film or a documentary, it can be a subject that is new and attractive for viewers.
One of the films called “The Final Stroke” was made by Adeya Rajan who said that the film he made was basically his view to look at poetry and paintings and he felt that making films was to discover things. One of the films made by Sumit Roy called “Dancing Queen” was shot on a Nokia cell phone. Roy made a few documentaries and short films and his entries reached Cannes.
Internet has been important to make your creativity and perception in camera reach people. There are many competitive programs on internet ,on film making on re- known websites .The students of cinema generally sent their entries into these websites where they not only get awarded for their creative work but the movies also gets marketed and promoted.
